The mission of Afyatap is to be able to get health care data from anywhere, to anywhere, in as close to realtime as possible. Behind the scenes, what enables this is an ML pipeline for extracting and normalizing concepts from the world’s mess of structured and unstructured health data. As the Data Engineering Lead, you’d be responsible for a great deal of this pipeline: from our parsers to modelling this data so it can be efficiently served up via our API.

Your team will own

    • Improving our parsing and extraction technology
    • Working closely with Machine Learning Engineers to add new ML services to our data pipeline
    • Modelling data from clinical and wearable sources so it can be efficiently stored and queried

In a typical week, you might

    • Prototype a new clinical data type to be added to our API
    • Debug performance issues with our data pipeline
    • Improve our parsers to extract new data types from incoming clinical data
    • Do some data engineering work to import a new clinical dataset into our internal ontology

Important attributes

    • Experience working with data pipelines, and an appreciation for asynchronous message-passing systems
    • Experience with writing internal APIs
    • Comfortable modelling data to be stored efficiently in databases
    • Data engineering experience: you’re comfortable massaging and cleaning up datasets for loading
    • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
    • You value things that make operating a system easier: monitoring, metrics and observability

Bonus points for experience with

    • Message queues such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
    • Python
    • node.js
    • MongoDB or Cassandra

Afyatap has two parts to its mission: allow getting healthcare data from anywhere to anywhere, and to empower people to take control and manage their health care data. This is something we call consumer-centric healthcare, and as a user team engineer, you would be at the forefront of enabling users to connect and manage their healthcare data. You would be primarily responsible for our user-facing UIs, and the backend code that supports them.

Your team will own

    • Our UI for helping users find and connect to their health and fitness data
    • Maintaining a consistent look and feel across our customer-facing products
    • Our “health wallet” for users: a UI that allows them to manage and visualize their health and data sources
    • Search across our provider network: helping users locate doctors, hospitals, pharmacies and other sources of health data

In a typical week, you might

    • Work with a designer on a new feature that allows users to find their doctor by location
    • Build a new visualization to help users understand their health over time
    • Debug an intermittent IE issue
    • Run an A/B test for a new search feature
    • Optimize our page load time for mobile browsers

Important attributes

    • Extensive frontend experience, particularly React
    • Experience writing backend services to support UIs
    • The ability to translate designs into usable products that people love
    • A love of metrics and instrumentation: we love measuring things!

We’ve been busy creating a new paradigm in health data exchange. As our Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for sharing this paradigm with the world by crafting the narrative of health data liquidity and consumer control.
You will own the go-to-market strategy, value messaging, and sales collateral to support a multi-channel sales strategy. You are comfortable working in a cross-functional role, providing the bridge between Product and Sales. You thrive on telling stories that capture the value and benefits of a technical product built for complex enterprise markets.

What You’ll Do – Role & Responsibilities

    • Create Market Requirement Documents (MRD) and develop the go-to-market plan for new solutions across multiple healthcare markets
    • Leverage your understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and the buying process to develop effective messaging and value proposition for executives and IT audiences
    • Own the marketing plan for essential corporate marketing initiatives including industry trade shows, press releases, website content, and lead-generation campaigns
    • Collaborate closely with the sales organization to support key sales meetings, proposals, and marketing materials required to win in a consultative sales process
    • Create marketing content including sales presentations, case studies, product demos, proposals, and customer testimonials
    • Participate in product planning, marketing strategy, competitive analysis, sales forecasting and company positioning to drive the strategic direction of a rapidly growing healthcare technology company

Who You Are – Required Skills

    • You’re a strategic marketing leader who is excited to launch new products that will disrupt the healthcare industry
    • 5+ years of B2B product marketing experience for an enterprise software/technology product
    • Deep understanding of the healthcare industry
    • Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts using simple language and visuals
    • Experience with internal marketing activities including market research, business case development, sales collateral development, ROI calculators, and sales training
    • Experience with outbound marketing activities including marketing campaigns, website content design, public relations, and tradeshow management
    • Ability to thrive in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, building next-generation solutions that impact both consumers and large enterprises
